🙏 The yogic science is unlike anything else. It was specifically designed for achieving a balance in mental, physical, and spiritual health. In studios, you see a lot of the physical aspect. But why do we do these positions? Yoga is actually a meditation practice. A practice to build concentration. In order to be able to give something your full attention, you cannot have any distractions. Just reflect on those times when you are trying to do something. Our thoughts can distract us. Our body can distract us with physical pains and ailments. How can we have full concentration if these things are going to divide our attention? It can be difficult to pay attention if there is something else on our mind. It can be hard to be in the moment if our stomach is hurting or our shoulder is sore. That is what the physical practice is for. If we keep our bodies moving, if we activate and massage all of our muscles and organs, they will behave and perform optimally. It can be one less thing we have to worry about when we have to give our full attention to whichever task is at hand. Keep the body and the mind active.
